Available Certification and Recertification Options


There are a number of ways to obtain your Tree Inspector Certification and Recertification education credits. You may also want to read through the Frequently Asked Questions page for a more extensive explanation of the program. On this page you can find forms to request a particular option. Any questions should be directed to treesins@umn.edu

Available Certification Options

Use these options if you are certifying for the first time as a tree inspector or if your certification has lapsed and you would like to renew. 

Available Recertification Options

Each year after a tree inspector becomes certified, he or she needs to complete at least six hours of continuing education credits. There are many different ways to obtain these credits, such as attending workshops or completing a U of M recertification module.
